Client Installation Guide

Complete guide for downloading, installing, and configuring the Truzt VPN client on your device.

1. Introduction

Truzt VPN is a Zero trust VPN solution which provides secure access to your organization's network resources. This guide will walk you through the process of downloading, installing, and configuring the Truzt VPN client on your device.

2. System Requirements

Windows

  • Windows 10 or later
  • 100 MB of available disk space
  • Administrator privileges for installation

macOS

  • macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later
  • 100 MB of available disk space
  • Administrator privileges for installation

3. Downloading the Truzt VPN Client

Download Steps:

  1. 1Open your web browser and navigate to the official Truzt VPN download page: https://truzt.lk/download

    Select the appropriate version for your operating system:

    • • For Windows: Click on the "Download for Windows" button
    • • For macOS (Intel/AMD): Click on the "Download for macOS (Intel)" button
    • • For macOS (Apple Silicon): Click on the "Download for macOS (Apple Silicon)" button
  3. 3Save the installer file to a location on your computer where you can easily access it (e.g., Downloads folder)

4. Installation Instructions

4.1. For Windows Users

  1. 1Locate the downloaded installer file (typically named Truzt-1.0.*-setup.exe)
  2. 2Right-click on the installer file and select "Run as administrator"
  3. 3If prompted by User Account Control (UAC), click "Yes" to allow the installation to proceed

    In the installer window:

    • • Read and accept the End User License Agreement
    • • Choose the installation location or use the default
    • • Click "Install" to begin the installation process
  5. 5Wait for the installation to complete and click "Finish" to exit the installer
  6. 6Double click the Truzt VPN client on the Desktop and it will automatically start and appear in your system tray

4.2. For macOS Users (Intel/AMD)

Important Security Note:

Instead of double-clicking the package file, right-click (or control-click) on the installer and select "Open". This step is crucial as macOS has security features that may prevent the application from opening otherwise.

  1. 1Locate the downloaded installer file (typically named Trust-amd64-1.0.*.pkg)
  2. 2IMPORTANT: Right-click (or control-click) on the installer and select "Open"
  3. 3If a warning appears, click "Open" to proceed

    If error occurs, open Terminal and run:

    sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine ~/Downloads/Trust-amd64-1.0.*.pkg
  5. Important Note:

    Before run above command make sure package name and path is correct

  6. 5Follow the installation wizard, accept the license agreement, and complete the installation
  7. 6Right-click on the Truzt VPN application in Applications folder and select "Open" or use Launchpad to run the Application

4.3. For macOS Users (Apple Silicon/ARM)

Follow the same steps as Intel/AMD installation, but use the ARM64 package:

  1. 1Locate the downloaded installer file (typically named Trust-arm64-1.0.*.pkg)

    If needed, run the Terminal command:

    sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine ~/Downloads/Trust-arm64-1.0.*.pkg
  3. Important Note:

    Before run above command make sure package name and path is correct

  4. 5Follow the installation wizard, accept the license agreement, and complete the installation
  5. 6Right-click on the Truzt VPN application in Applications folder and select "Open" or use Launchpad to run the Application

5. Initial Configuration

After installing the Truzt VPN client, you need to verify the management URL and port settings:

  1. 1Locate the Truzt VPN icon in your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (macOS)
  2. 2Right-click (Windows) or click (macOS) on the Truzt VPN icon to open the menu
  3. 3Select "Settings" from the menu

    In the Settings window, verify the following information:

    Management URL: https://app.truzt.lk:33073

    Admin URL: https://app.truzt.lk:443

  5. 5If the information is correct, click "Save". If incorrect, enter the correct information and then click "Save"

6. Connecting to the VPN

  1. 1Locate the Truzt VPN icon in your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (macOS)
  2. 2Right-click (Windows) or click (macOS) on the icon to open the menu
  3. 3Select "Connect" from the menu
  4. 4A login page will automatically open in your default web browser
  5. 5On the login page, select your organization's Active Directory (AD) from the dropdown menu
  6. 6Click "Continue" to proceed
  7. 7You will be automatically redirected to a login success page once authentication is complete
  8. 8You can close the browser window after seeing the success message

7. Checking Connection Status

To verify that you are connected to the VPN:

  1. 1Locate the Truzt VPN icon in your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (macOS)
  2. 2Right-click (Windows) or click (macOS) on the icon to open the menu

    Look for the connection status indicator:

    • A green indicator or checkmark typically indicates an active connection
    • The menu may also display text such as "Connected" or show your connection details
  4. 4You can verify the connection status from the system tray menu

8. Accessing Secured Resources

Once connected to the Truzt VPN:

You can now access secured resources that are protected by the VPN. These resources may include:

Internal websites
Network drives
Corporate applications
Database systems & restricted services

Note: Access these resources as you normally would, using your standard applications and tools. All traffic to these secured resources will be routed through the VPN connection.

9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with the Truzt VPN client:

9.1. Connection Problems

  • Verify that your internet connection is working properly
  • Check that the management URL and port settings are correct
  • Ensure that your network doesn't block VPN connections
  • Try restarting the Truzt VPN client
  • Restart your computer and try connecting again

9.2. Authentication Issues

  • Verify that you are selecting the correct Active Directory (AD)
  • Check that your organization credentials are valid and not expired
  • Contact your IT department if you continue to have authentication problems

9.3. Application Not Opening

  • For macOS: Remember to right-click and select "Open" instead of double-clicking
  • For Windows: Try running the application as administrator
